Tavoitteet

The student:
Can explain the concepts of health promotion, disease prevention and health advocacy.
Understands the importance of strategic health promotion programs and can apply them in their own client-centered health promotion activities.
Is able to apply current health promotion research and other evidence-based information in client/patient care.
Identifies existing and emerging health threats and incorporates them into the health promotion of clients/patients.
Recognizes health risk factors of their clients/patients and can provide early support to those in need.
Understands sexual health promotion as part of overall health promotion.
Understands the control of communicable diseases as part of health promotion.
Knows the diseases preventable by vaccination, understands the benefits of vaccinations, and knows where to find reliable information on potential side effects of vaccinations.
Can guide and support clients in making vaccination decisions based on researched information.
Uses client/patient-centered teaching and guidance methods.
Assesses the needs and resources of the client/patient, as well as their own responsibility in the planning of guidance and self-care.
Evaluates the outcomes of guidance together with the client/patient, their relatives, and healthcare personnel
