Tavoitteet

By the end of the course, the student will be able to:
Understand the human body as a functioning whole and the interconnection of its systems.
Describe the basic structure and function of key organ systems, including blood, circulation, respiration, musculoskeletal, urinary, and gastrointestinal systems.
Recognize the roles of cells, tissues, and skin in maintaining health and homeostasis.
Apply foundational knowledge of anatomy and physiology in healthcare-related learning tasks and discussions.

Classes are held either on campus or online according to the timetable.

Topics that will be covered in this course include:
The human body as a functioning entity
Cells, tissues, and skin
Blood and homeostasis
Musculoskeletal system (bones and muscles)
Acid–base balance
Cardiovascular system (heart and circulation)
Respiratory system (lungs and breathing)
Urinary system

Teaching takes place on campus and/or online according to the timetable.

Opetusmenetelmät

In this course, learning occurs both collaboratively and independently. Working methods include small group work, instructional discussions, assignments in the online learning environment, and studying the course literature.

The student knows the structures and functions of the human body and can describe the relationship between functions.
