Objective

The aim is to ensure that a graduating nurse possesses the core competencies required of a registered nurse in general nursing (180 ECTS).

Accomplishment methods

Theoretical exam:
• Pass: at least 65 points, i.e., 65% of the maximum score (100 points)
• Fail: fewer than 65 points
• The theoretical exam includes statements, multiple choice questions, fill in the blank tasks, matching tasks, and case-based questions.

Medication calculation exam:
• Pass: 5/5 points (all calculations must be correct)
• Fail: fewer than 5 points

The student has 3 hours to complete both exams and three exam attempts during the semester.

The exam is part of the advanced professional studies. For nursing students, the exam is included as a partial assessment of general nursing competence and as part of the optional advanced studies (30 ECTS). A successfully completed national general nursing medication calculation exam replaces the medication calculation exam 4 in the advanced studies.
