Content

Creation of a game according to a previously approved project plan or creation of a polished portfolio piece.
The game is published in some publishing platform or the development team participates in a game development competition during the same year.

Teaching methods

During the summer students must complete either 5, 10, or 15 credits. Courses are chosen from Game Development Summer Studies 1, 2, 3 and 4 as a package regarding the wanted credits amount.

Students can choose from 3 different tracks to compile the desired credit amounts. The tracks are:
- Published Game
- Game Development Competition
- Rapid Development

The work happens at campus. There are coaches available for mentoring and help, but there is no teaching. Independency and proactivity is required as well as basic knowledge on programming, graphics, design and/or production. Course language is primarily English.

Exam schedules

There are no exams, the course has deliverables.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

All the assignments are returned.
The documentation of the project is done, but is lacking.
The amount of working hours corresponds the credits.

Self and peer review is used in grading.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

All the assignments are returned in time.
Student has completed the project by the plan they made or can apply it in case of changes.
The documentation of the project is good.
The amount of working hours corresponds the credits.

Self and peer review is used in grading.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

All the assignments are returned in time.
Student has completed the project by the plan they made or can apply it in case of changes. Project stays in time.
The documentation of the project is excellent.
The amount of working hours corresponds the credits.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The course is failed if no assignments are not returned.
The amount of working hours does not correspond the credits.

Qualifications

Student has enough knowledge and skills to work as a producer, a designer, a programmer or an artist in a project independently or in a team.
