Content scheduling
The course is divided on the Reppu platform into different sections, which students may study and practise in any order they choose.
At the end of the course, students book a time for the final exam in accordance with the instructions provided on the Reppu course. Fulfilment of the learning objectives is verified by the final exam.
The duration of the final exam is 75 minutes.
Location and time
The course is designed to be completed remotely and at an individual pace.
Materials
All learning materials required to complete the course are available on the course’s Reppu platform. Additional information and practice can be obtained from textbooks on medication calculations. The Easy enrolment code required to join the course on the Reppu platform will be provided by the study office, when you do the registration for the course.
Please note that the course materials are available only in Finnish.
Teaching methods
The course is designed to be completed mostly through independent study.
The course is divided into several sections, consisting of theoretical content with worked calculation examples. Each section includes practice exercises and their solutions to support independent learning. In addition, useful links are provided, including instructional videos to support practice.
The course includes a review section with a practice exam which are similar to the final exam, allowing students to revise and prepare for the final exam.

Exam schedules
Students should contact the course instructor by email at least 10 days before their intended exam date to arrange the time and place for the final exam. The exam can be taken during a resit session at Kajaani University of Applied Sciences or under the instructor’s supervision on campus or via Teams. The exam duration is 75 minutes.
Passing the final exam is required to complete the course. Students have two opportunities to resit the exam if needed.

Completion alternatives
Credit transfer may be applied for if the student has completed an equivalent course (i.e. a mathematics course at a university of applied sciences or university level with a equivalent scope).
In such cases, students are still advised to verify their competence by taking the final exam, as calculators are not permitted during the final examination of this course.
Student workload
The course is worth 2 credits, where one credit corresponding to approximately 17 hours of student work.
The whole course therefore represents roughly 34 hours of independent study, including time spent on exercises and the final exam.
