Objective

The students can read texts printed and handwritten in the Cyrillic alphabet,and can write Russian text themselves. They know the basic rules of pronunciation and intonation and are familiar with basic grammar structures to be applied in simple everyday communication and service situations.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Satisfactory 1: the student
- can read texts printed or hand-written in the Cyrillic alphabet, as well as write cursive Russian
- knows some of the rules of pronunciation and intonation and is able to apply them in oral situations
- knows grammar structures and grammar enough to understand the main content in oral and written service situations

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good 3: the student
- can read fluently texts printed or hand-written in the Cyrillic alphabet, as well as write cursive Russian
- knows the most important rules of pronunciation and intonation and can apply them in oral situations
- knows the most important grammar structures and enough vocabulary to be able to communicate orally and in writing in simple service situations

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent 5: the student
- can read texts printed or hand-written in the Cyrillic alphabet without difficulty, as well as write cursive Russian fluently
- knows the rules of pronunciation and intonation and can apply them consistently in oral situations
- knows enough grammar and vocabulary to be able to manage well in simple face-to-face service situations and drawing up written messages, e.g. e-mails, SMS messages

Qualifications

No previous Russian studies necessary.
