Objective
After completing the course, the student is able to specify, design and simulate, and implement and test a simple, semi-finished intelligent system based on hw and sw components. The student is familiar with the intelligent system architecture and hw and sw architectures and can apply them in project studies that focus on health and wellbeing applications.

The students are able to:
- understand the basics of device and software design
- seek and retrieve information and apply it under supervision
- simulate, design and implement simple applications under supervision
- The students have basic competence regarding the subject area
- The students have completed at least one third of the learning assignments in a timely manner
Assessment criteria, good (3)
The students are able to:
- implement a device and software design project under supervision
- independently seek and retrieve information and apply it under supervision
- specify, simulate, design and implement applications under supervision
- The students have good competence regarding the subject area
- The students have completed at least half of the learning assignments in a timely manner
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The students are able to:
- independently implement a device and software design project
- independently seek and retrieve information and apply it in practice
- independently specify, simulate, design and test applications they have made and document the design process
- The students have excellent competence regarding the subject area
- The students have completed all the learning assignments in a timely manner
