Objective
The students will know the key bodies of cooperation that produce social and basic healthcare and specialist hospital care for families with children. The students will develop their professional skills to encounter families at different of their lives in various operational environments. They will develop their professional competence in evidence-based prenatal nursing, gynaecological nursing and paediatric nursing.

Kehitysvammaisuus 1 op suoritetaan devmoodlessa 12.10.- 3.11. 2020 välisenä aikana itsenäisenä opiskeluna. Oppimispäiväkirjaa palautettava 20.11. 2020 mennessä. Jos oppimispäiväkirja ei ole palautettu määräaikaan mennessä, niin opintojakso suoritetaan tenttimällä uusintatenttipäivänä. 1.suoritus 8.12. 2020. 1.uusinta 14.1. 2021 ja 2.uusinta 21.1. 2021

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The students are able to define the principles of family nursing and can name the key producers of social and basic healthcare and specialist hospital care for families with children and can explain what forms of social services and benefits are available to families at different life stages.
The students are able to name the different stages of growth and development of children of different ages, and the impacts of pregnancy on women and their families and development tasks.
The students are able to describe the care paths of an ill child, adolescent, a pregnant woman and gynaecological patients as well as being able to name the interventions used.
They are able to describe how to assist births that occur out of hospital.
The students are able to describe the most common paediatric diseases and gynaecological diseases at different stages of life and the most common complications in pregnancy.
The students are able to describe the key concepts used in sexual and reproductive health.
They are able to describe the factors associated with promoting the sexual and reproductive health of customers of different ages and can explain sexual health promotion in nursing.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
The students are able to use and apply the principles of family nursing in providing health promotion instruction to families in different life situations.
The students are able to select safe, health promoting nursing interventions to treat the most common paediatric and gynaecological diseases, as well as when administering care and nursing cases of complications during pregnancy.
They are able to explain the duties of the nurse and describe the nursing protocol for births that occur out of hospital.
The students are able to explain the key concepts of sexual and reproductive health from a multidisciplinary perspective.
They are able to explain factors associated with promoting the sexual and reproductive health of customers of different ages and the importance of sexual health promotion in nursing.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The students are able to compare and analyse how important the principles of family nursing are in promoting the health and wellbeing of children, young people and their families and in treating illness.
They can compare and analyse the impact of pregnancy on the life of women and their families and can apply knowledge of the developments that occur among men and women during pregnancy when administering care.
The students are able to apply knowledge of the most common gynecological diseases when administering care to women at different stages of life.
They are able to apply knowledge of births that occur out of hospital when administering care in a case of sudden childbirth.
The students are able to make versatile use of the key concepts of sexual and reproductive health from multidisciplinary perspectives.
They are able to carry out sexual and reproductive health promotion with customers of different ages and can justify the implementation of sexual health promotion in nursing.

Tämän jölkeen opetuskeskusteluna jatkuu lasten- ja nuorten hoitotyö.

Harjoitustunnit ja simulaatiot teoriatuntien jälkeen.
