Objective
Students will be proficient in the opportunities provided by computer-aided modelling for production system planning and they will learn the basic techniques of modelling in practice.
Content
The concepts and principles of modelling
The parts and equipment of virtual production
Use of workers in the model
Piece handling and conveyor devices
The kinematics of the computer model
Analysing the performance of the model
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The students are familiar with the basic concepts of modelling and can use ready elements for modelling a simple system.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
The students are able to use employer modelling and conveyor systems models when examining different alternatives.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The students are able to use simulation for examining production economics in a variety of ways and understand the opportunities simulation provides in developing productivity.
