Objective
Students will understand the role and importance of the manager within the work community. During practical training, they will be able to apply the skills acquired from their professional and advanced studies while using the newest information to develop tourism services. They will be able to evaluate their own knowledge and skills with the aid of theory based reflection.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed
Pass:
The students are able to search for a training place in Finland or abroad supporting their specialism (major). They have attended the practical training information sessions, completed any preliminary assignments, set themselves objectives and submitted a signed practical training agreement to the practical training coordinator. The students are able to familiarise themselves with the different tasks and services of their practical training place independently. They are able to work in different roles using knowledge acquired during their professional and specialised studies. The students are able to participate in managerial tasks under supervision recognising the role and significance of management in their work community. The students are able to reflect upon and present their own professional development and management skills based on theoretical knowledge. The students compile and submit a written practical training report according to instructions and participate in the feedback seminar.
Fail:
The students are not able to search for a training place in Finland or abroad supporting their specialism (major). They have not attended the practical training information sessions, nor have they completed any preliminary assignments, set themselves objectives and submitted a signed practical training agreement to the practical training coordinator.
