Descriptions

Matkailualan koulutuksessa opiskelija suorittaa matkailu- ja ravitsemisalan ammattikorkeakoulututkinnon. Tutkintonimikkeenä on restonomi (AMK). Opintojen laajuus on 210 opintopistettä ja koulutuksen kesto 3,5 vuotta. Koulutus muodostuu perusopinnoista, ammattiopinnoista, vaihtoehtoisista ammattiopinnoista, vapaasti valittavista opinnoista, harjoittelusta ja opinnäytetyöstä. Matkailun koulutus on osa Business-osaamisaluetta, johon kuuluvat matkailun lisäksi liiketalouden ja liikunnan koulutukset sekä suomeksi että englanniksi. Opiskelijan onkin näin mahdollista ottaa opintoja myös toisista koulutuksista.

Koulutuksen tavoitteena on, että opiskelijasta kehittyy monialaiseen yhteistyöhön kykenevä matkailualan osaaja. Opintojen läpikulkevana teemana ovat tapahtumien järjestäminen, matkailun tuotekehitys sekä matkailuyrittäjyyden, kansainvälisyyden ja itsetuntemuksen ja hyvinvoivan työyhteisön kehittäminen. Erilaisissa oppimistehtävissä tehdään tiivistä yhteistyötä matkailun toimijoiden kanssa. Opintojen aikana tehdään opintomatkoja sekä perusopinnoissa että suuntautumisvaihtoehdoissa esim. Matkamessut osana Tapahtumatuotannon opintoja.

Opintojen alussa keskitytään perustaitojen ja tietämyksen kartuttamiseen, jonka jälkeen siirrytään opitun soveltamiseen. Opiskelet asiakaslähtöistä ja kokonaisvaltaista tuotekehitys- ja markkinointiosaamista sekä opettelet tuntemaan eri kulttuureja kansainvälistä matkailua varten.

Matkailupalvelut koostuvat monista eri osista, kuten majoitus-, ravitsemis-, ohjelma- ja liikennepalveluista sekä tapahtuma-, kokous- ja kongressipalveluista. Opintojen lopussa korostuu osaamisen hyödyntäminen käytännössä ja erilaisissa älykkäissä ratkaisuissa.

Syventääksesi osaamistasi matkailun eri osa-alueilla jokainen opiskelijamme rakentaa toisen vuoden opinnoista alkaen itselleen yksilöllisen oppimispolun vaihtoehtoisten aineopintojen kautta. Osaamisalueellamme voit syventää osaamistasi tapahtumatuotannossa, yrittäjyydessä, asiakaskokemuksen kehittämisessä tai markkinointiviestinnässä. Tarjolla on myös englanninkieliset syventävät opinnot: Event Management, Hospitality Management tai Arctic Sports and Tourism. Yksilöllisellä polulla voit myös syventää kansainvälisyysosaamistasi (kv-vaihto ja/tai kv-harjoittelu). Omaa yksilöllistä polkuasi vahvistat erilaisten työelämälähtöisten tehtävien ja harjoitteluiden avulla. Opinnäytetyöllä voit vielä vahvistaa omaa osaamistasi valitsemallasi polulla.
