Student

Expresses himself/herself in Finnish both orally and in writing in familiar care situations.

Practices writing short routine texts and following simple conversational situations.

Learns to ask and record patient's medical information.

Strengthens the basic vocabulary of health care sector and to repeat structures at A2.1 level.

Student can communicate successfully in Finnish at work or when visiting public agencies and offices. He/she is able to take part in conversations about familiar topics. Student knows some set phrases. He/she understands the main idea and some details in longer texts like advertisements, time tables and emails, including the text written in easy Finnish (selkokieli). Student is able to infer the meaning of unknown word from the context. He/she can describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Student can follow simple conversation about topics, that are close to him/her. He/she understands the core content of short messages like proclamations or instructions. Student can describe his/her surroundings shortly and gets along in everyday service situations. Student understands short written news and operating directions. He/she is able to find single information in a two chapter text. Student writes short notes and list like descriptions about own experiences.
