Objective

The students will be able to apply for a work placement supporting their career development. The
students will observe different duties in the work place and assess the knowledge, competences and
attitude they require in relation to their own competence and interests. The students will be able to
work as members of a team in accommodation, food and programme service customer service
situations.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Pass: The students succeed in applying for a work placement. They are able to complete basic
practical duties in a team according to the rules safety requirements of the work place taking others
into consideration. The students will observe the tourism industry for the purposes of planning their
studies. They provide a time-sheet report of their working hours and duties and a written work
placement report in accordance with given instructions. The students are able to assess their
acquired skills and knowledge according to the competences of the degree.
Fail: The students fail to apply for a work placement or to report on the work placement according to
instructions

Location and time

Opintojakso toteutuu kevätlukukaudella seuraavan aikatalun mukaan:
vko 2, 4, 5 ja 6 ohjaustunnit ja yritysvierailut
vko 11-14 käytännön työskentely yrityksessä
vko 15-19 raportointi ja palaute

Materials

Tarvittavat aineistot ovat Repussa.

Teaching methods

Opintojakso koostuu kaikille pakollista ohjaustunneista ja yritysvierailuista sekä käytännön työskentelystä matkailun toimintaympäristössä. Ohjaustunneilla saat vinkkejä työpaikan hakemiseen sekä kuulet työelämän odotuksista. Työskentelmällä majoitusyrityksen erilaisissa asiakaspalvelutehtävissä pääset soveltamaan esimmäisen opiskeluvuoden teoriatietoa käytäntöön sekä tekemään havaintoja eri työtehtävissä vaadittavista tiedoista ja taidoista suhteessa omaan osaamiseen ja kiinnostuksen kohteisiin. Opit myös toimimaan työpaikan erilaisissa työryhmissä ja ymmärrät eri työryhmien merkityksen hyvän asiakaskokemuksen näkökulmasta.

Student workload

Opintojakso vaatii noin 135 h opiskelijan työtä, josta 120 tuntia on käytännön työskentelyä ja noin 15 tuntia ohjausta ja raportointia.

Hyväksytty:
Opiskelija on toiminut opintojakson vaatimusten mukaisesti.

Hylätty:
Opiskelija ei suorita käytännön työharjoittelua tai raportoi sitä ohjeiden mukaan.

Content scheduling

Opintojakso koostuu lähiopetuksena pidettävistä ohjaustunneista ja yritysvierailuista sekä käytännön työskentelystä majoitusyrityksen erilaisissa asiakaspalvelutehtävissä. Ohjaustunneilla on 80% läsnäolovelvoite ja käytännön työskentelyssä tulee kerätä noin 120 tuntia.

Käytännön työskentelyn painotuksissa huomioidaan opiskelijan aikaisempi osaaminen ja omat kiinnostuksen kohteet.
