Objective

Students will be familiar with the economic management and control of a building project and quality engineering taking into account a building's life span. They will be able to recognize the formation of costs in a building project, being able to compare costs with the building's life span. They will be proficient in quality assurance, the quality requirements regulating building and other central quality issues in building.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The students are able to select the most appropriate cost and quantities calculation methods for different projects and can compare costs and quality (value for money). They are able to assess the impact of quality on a building's life-cycle and are able to conduct challenging cost and quantity survey calculations independently.

The students are able to conduct cost and quantity survey calculations independently and they are familiar with quality regulations and issues and their impacts on the life-cycle of a building.
