Objective

Students will be proficient in new applications and information processing methods. They will be able to search for information from professional magazines and other sources, combining them for presentation purposes. Students will be able to compile a clear, well organised and cohesive scientific dissertation.

Searching for and use of source material
Syntax and semiotics
Proofreading, textual analysis
How to compile a text
Compilation and presentation of the seminar presentation
Participation in seminars
This course links in with the contents and schedule of the trainer course

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The students perform all written assignments accurately and can produce a successful seminar presentation on current issues.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The students actively participate in the development of written communication and compile a seminar assignment using accurate and good academic Finnish.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The students participate actively in the seminar events, recognise the main features of academic Finnish and produce direct and accurate academic text.
