Objective

The student knows how to acquire, critically evaluate and appropriately apply the national and international knowledge base and practices of their own field,
The student knows how to write a reflective dissertation essay. He knows which actors are researching and anticipating the development of working life. He knows how to use studies and reports related to the development of management and the working community in the preparation of a thesis essay.

Content

The student independently chooses 3 - 4 current trends in management.

Materials

The study materials are announced on the online study platform. The materials are KAMK library e-books and other online material.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

· In an excellent and commendable learning assignment, the student has written an informative, versatile and comprehensive essay based on the given assignment.

· In the learning task, all sources have been applied appropriately and visibly in the breakdown of the given questions.

· The perspectives of different sources have been evaluated, compared and combined with each other in such a way that the theories and concepts central to the subject come out smoothly.

· The text contains justified own reflections, applications and critical considerations.

· The text is clearly structured throughout and progresses consistently so that all aspects of the assignment are handled in a balanced manner.

· The language of the essay is neat and has good business style.

· Source references have been marked appropriately and the layout of the learning task has been taken care of.

· In value statement 5, the student's original and creative way of structuring the matter of assignment is also highlighted.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

· In a good learning assignment, the student has written an essay based on the given assignment, in which the central theories and concepts of the subject area come out well.

· All sources have been utilized in the learning task, but the evaluation, combination and comparison of their content remains random.

· The text can be somewhat mechanical in nature, impersonal and referential, although very informative. Critical reflection can also be low.

· There may be slight inaccuracies in the source markings.

· The language of the essay may contain, for example, small grammatical errors and colloquialisms.

· However, as a whole, all aspects of the assignment have been dealt with in a consistent and coherent manner in the essay.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

In a satisfying and avoidable learning task, the student has written a fragmented and superficial essay based on the assignment. Not all questions and aspects of the assignment have been examined.

· Utilization of the source material can also be uneven, relying heavily on e.g. one source while others remain in the background.

· Combining, comparing and critically evaluating information is almost completely missing.

· The structure of the text is not clear, so it can be difficult to grasp a coherent overall narrative.

· However, theories and concepts relevant to the subject have been successfully presented in an understandable way and an effort has been made to apply them in accordance with the assignment.

· There are some deficiencies in the source references.

· The language of the essay may contain some grammatical errors and colloquialisms, for example. However, the language aims for a matter-of-fact style.

· The learning task evaluated with a grade of 1 contains something sufficient for the accepted task.
