- You understand the terminology and key concepts of exercise physiology.
- You become familiar with the body’s physiological responses as physical load increases from rest to maximal performance.
- You become familiar with the effects of physical activity on the structures and functions of the body.
- You are able to train and assess the different components of physical fitness.
- You are able to apply this knowledge in exercise planning and performance assessment.

- Function of the respiratory and circulatory systems
- Basics of strength and endurance training and the physiological adaptations they produce
- Basics of energy metabolism
- Function of the neuromuscular system
- Thermoregulation of the body
- Testing of muscular strength and cardiorespiratory endurance
