Objective

Students will become familiar with the most usual construction machines and equipment. They will be able to use them safely and effectively and to anticipate dangerous situations. They will also learn to be aware of the checks and official regulations for such machines and devices. They will also gain an overview of the effect of the construction machine/type of device on economic, high quality and safe construction work.

The students are able to select an alternative machine or device for each building phase. They are able to do productivity calculations according to various machine and device methods.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The students are able to select and acquire a cost-efficient and safe machine for each phase of work. They are able acquire machinery and devices according to how building progresses.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The students are familiar with the main machines and devices used in building. They are aware of how the machines and devices are operated safely.
