Student:
• understand the importance of ethics and values in a globalizing world
• understand the main outlines of the UN Agenda 2030 and the challenges
• is able to apply key concepts related to eco-social approach
• be able to raise awareness of discriminatory and unsustainable structures affecting the environment
• be able to view and evaluate and develop different dimensions of the sustainability and eco-social approach in organization

Content

The course focuses on the importance of ethics and values in globalizing world, as well as the role of equitable development under UN Agenda 2030 and as a counterbalance to technological and economic globalization. The themes of sustainable development are examined from the perspectives of the different dimensions of sustainability (human, social and ecological) as well as through the key concepts related to eco-social approach. The course provides students with both theoretical and practical tools to implement sustainability and eco-social approach in organizations.

Objective

After completing the course, students will be able to apply different calculation methods to assess the profitability of investments, analyse the information produced by the calculations and use the information produced by the calculations in making investment decisions.
The student will be able to apply and analyse different financing options for investments and their cost implications in the short and long term. The student can analyse the impact of different financing options on the profitability, liquidity and solvency of the company in the short and long term.

Objective

The aim of the thesis is to develop the student's ability to apply research knowledge and use selected methods to identify and solve problems in working life, as well as to develop the ability to work independently in a demanding expert capacity. After completing the thesis, the student will have an in-depth understanding of the relevant field, its position in working life and social significance, the ability to independently search for information and to monitor, analyse and critically evaluate the development of research knowledge and professional practice in the relevant field, and the ability to independently produce and apply information.

Content

The thesis can be a development project or a development study that enhances the student's professional skills and serves the development needs of working life. The output of a thesis of a developmental nature may be a new or improved working method or process, product, method, model, event or artistic work, etc.

Opiskelija pystyy syvällisesti analysoimaan organisaation (esim. oman työpaikan) ennakointi- ja innovaatiotoiminnan nykytilaa. Opiskelija pystyy laatimaan selvän ja hyvin muotoilun suunnitelman organisaation ennakointi- ja innovaatiotoiminnan kehittämiseksi käyttäen laajasti ja monipuolisesti yhdistelemällä eri menetelmiä. Raportin rakenne ja kieli ovat erinomaisia. Lähdekirjallisuutta on käytetty hyvin laajasti hyödyntäen myös kansainvälistä alan kirjallisuutta ja opintojakson materiaaleissa esittelemätöntä kirjallisuutta.

Students will be able to manage the R&D&I process in a goal-oriented, innovative and planned way, based on evaluation. He or she will manage the overall R&D&I process and develop it in a systematic and controlled manner, justifying solutions critically and comprehensively. The student has a good command of the methodologies supporting the R&D&I process and is able to evaluate their applicability in a critical and comprehensive manner. He/she is able to set up a project organisation supporting the R&D&I process, involving its actors in R&D&I activities. The student will be able to analyse and justify the development needs of the sector in a forward-looking way, in cooperation with the actors in the working community and experts in the field, and integrate them into the operational context, the social context and previous knowledge in the field of education. Students will be able to reform workplace practices on the basis of evidence and create new conceptual ways of thinking about practice and application.
