Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The students are able to execute demanding speaking and writing customer service tasks efficiently using different communication tools in a variety of ways and by adapting their communication style to the situation and the culture of their partner in communication. They are able to prepare and deliver a convincing and organised oral presentation with required materials in their own words; to answer questions from the audience fluently and with expertise. The students use a variety of vocabulary and grammar structures fluently, and their pronunciation and intonation is almost flawless. The students are able to communicate fluently and effectively in meetings and negotiations in different roles and can cope with unexpected situations without preparation and they are able to compile a professional notice of a meeting, agenda and minutes. The students are able to interpret and report demanding professional texts orally and in writing with attention to style.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The students are able to execute demanding speaking and writing customer service tasks in an appropriate manner using different communication tools. They are able to prepare and deliver a clear oral presentation on a topic related to the field using their notes/presentation materials for support. The students use vocabulary and grammar structures to a large extent correctly and their pronunciation is mostly correct demonstrating attention to intonation. The students are able to participate relatively spontaneously in meetings and negotiations in all roles and they are proficient in the terminology of meetings; The students are able to compile meetings documents fairly accurately. They are able to interpret and report professional texts orally and in writing using an appropriate style.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The students perform proficiently in common oral and written customer service situations (e.g. advice and sales situations, basic telephone situations, email). They are able to deliver a simple and comprehensible presentation on a familiar subject using prepared material for support and with an attempt to take the audience into account during the different stages of the presentation; Their use of grammar and vocabulary contains clear errors. They are able to participate in meetings and negotiations with a great deal of preparation; They understand to a large extent how the meeting progresses and can make notes.
