Objective

The students will understand the basics of social pedagogy as well as key concepts. They will understand the importance of different stages of human life and culture for growth; They will know the formal and non-formal structures of learning and growth and their significance for good growth; different working methods that empower the client and inspire a sense of community; social pedagogical orientation in social services work and early childhood education and as part of the work and induction of a social services professional.

Content

Formal and non-formal learning, social interaction, community, culture and education, inclusion, childhood and youth in life stages, working methods and social pedagogical activities activating individuals and groups, socio-cultural inspiration, small group pedagogy

The student will be able to relate to the learning outcomes:

- name and describe the basic knowledge of his/her profession.

- act appropriately in different learning and working environments under guidance
- make appropriate use of techniques and models in their professional field.

- act professionally in client situations
- act as a member of a team and be respectful of other members of the team
- Act in accordance with professional ethical principles.

Further information

The course involves 135 hours of study.
10 hours of contact teaching: practical training / simulations / project
Online studies: various short tasks, individual assignment (assessment 0-5) and
team project linked to social pedagogy (assessment 0-5).

Course assignments can be completed independently already during the summer. In the fall, there are classroom lessons.
