Content scheduling

Opintojakso jakaantuu kahteen osaan. Syksyllä suoritettavaan 6 op:n osuuteen ja keväällä suoritettavaan 2 op osuuteen, jonka suoritusohjeet ja arviointi tulevat myöhemmin. Nämä ohjeet koskevat 6 op:n osuutta!

Objective

The student can explain the main concepts of tourism. The student knows the main features of the historical development of tourism. He/she can classify push and pull factors and identify the main tourist areas and pull factors of Kainuu, Finland and the world. The student will identify different segments of tourists and be able to classify tourists on the basis of theoretical models. The student is able to identify the main characteristics of tourism services. The student can explain the interconnection of tourism with other industries/organisations and the regional economic importance of tourism through the tourism cluster. The student will understand the importance of different levels of networks in tourism. They can internalise the key players and organisations in the tourism sector in Finland and abroad and know their main tasks. The student understands the importance of responsibility in the tourism industry. Understand the importance of tourism strategies.

The student can describe the tourism industry as a whole and a network of different organizations, and can describe the relationships between the field of actors. He knows how to use the key concepts of tourism.

The student can tell about different tourist segments and the different motivations of tourists. The student can describe the relationship between different tourism products and services and customer segments, and can describe the target groups of the products and services.

The student can name the different levels of regional development of tourism and can tell the role of different development organizations and the importance of different types of tourism strategies in the development of the field. The student can describe the importance of a future-oriented development approach and can name current phenomena in the field of tourism.

The student can function satisfactorily in various learning and operating environments. He acquires information from domestic and international information sources. In addition, he knows how to work as a member of a group.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student can describe the tourism industry as a wide-ranging entity and a network of different organizations, and can describe the relationships between the field of actors. He knows how to use the key concepts of tourism.

The student recognizes and knows how to tell about different tourist segments and the different motivations of tourists. The student can describe the relationship between various tourism products and services and customer segments, and can describe the target groups of products and services in a multidimensional manner.

The student understands the importance of a future-oriented development approach and knows how to analyze current phenomena in the tourism field.
