Tavoitteet

The students will understand the significance of memorable experiences and narratives in event production and the role of catering as a part of the event experience.
The students will be able to plan responsible events taking into account the special features of the region and the opportunities offered by the environment.

Opetusmenetelmät

The course consists of both on-campus and online teaching, along with independently completed tasks. It also includes visits to and by companies. Active participation is required for passing these components.

Additionally, there are assignments, both individual and group-based that are graded.

• Lectures and independent study, 2 ECTS, grade: pass/fail
• Study trip and task, 0,5 ECTS, grade: pass/fail
• Learning diary (individual), 1 ECTS, grade: 0-5
• Sales presentation (group), 0,5 ECTS, grade: 0-5
• Event research report (group), 1 ECTS, grade: 0-5

1 ECTS = 27 hours of workload

Arviointimenetelmät ja arvioinnin perusteet

Both individual and group-based assignments will be assessed on a scale 1-5, which will determine the overall grade for the course. Active participation in lectures, independent tasks and company visits are required for passing the course and may influence the course grade. Late submissions may affect the course grade.

Note! Although Experiential Event and Profitable Event are listed as separate courses, their content, assignments, and assessments are integrated. As a result, the assessment and grades for both partial attainments and overall course performance will be the same for both courses.

Detailed assessment criteria for the assignments are announced at the beginning of the course.
