The upcoming days of the course will be organized on May 21-22, 2026 in Teams. You will receive a preliminary assignment approximately 3 weeks before the upcoming days (will be processed in the coming days).

Sports Information Management Policy Document 2020–2024, pages 9-20 and either of these: A Guide to Measuring Health Technology OR A Critical Review of Consumer Wearables, Mobile Applications, and Equipment for Providing Biofeedback, Monitoring Stress, and Sleep in Physically Active Populations.
Teaching methods
The course consists of lectures intended for everyone (coming in May). The course also includes a preliminary assignment and a development assignment, which will help you a) orient yourself to the subject area of the course and b) apply what you have learned from the subject area to create a plan for a new service in the field of sports and wellbeing. The development assignment is assessed on a pass/fail basis.

International connections
The course describes the international ecosystem of the sports industry, in which Kainuu Sports Hub and KAMK are involved. Kainuu Sports Hub also enables you to develop the industry in an international context.

Student workload
The course is 5 credits, approximately 135 hours of student work. The practical sessions are a total of 15 hours, and the assignments, including the various phases, are approximately 120 hours.

Opiskelija osaa arvioida liikunta-ja hyvnvointidatan soveltamisen mahdollisuuksia sekä tietää terveyttä edistäviä teknologisia ratkaisuja erilaisissa konteksteissa, kuten matkailussa. Hän osaa kartoittaa erilaisia palvelutarpeita ja tuottaa ratkaisuja organisaatioiden ja yritysten liikunta- ja hyvinvointipalvelujen kehittämiseksi. Hän osaa arvioida omat asiantuntijuuden kehittämistarpeensa liittyen liikuntadatan hyödyntämiseen aihepiirin tiimoilta.
