Objective
The student knows the theories and concepts of self-management. He/she can analyze his/her own actions and habits, and set the goals. He/she recognizes the effects of constructive thinking to oneself and environment. The student recognizes the meaning of own emotion regulation to self-management and the meaning of compassion toward oneself.

Materials
Material is given in a course. You will mainly be able to search for research and theoretical information in the subject area and apply it in your reflection and final assignment.
Teaching methods
The course consists of lectures intended for everyone (in autumn 2026). In addition, the course includes three assignments: 1) observation of one's own activities, 2) setting and monitoring goals using the iSmart tool, and 3) a final assignment (self-management workshop/lecture for the work community). All assignments must be completed with a passing grade.

The student understands and applies theories and tools/methods of self-management to their work and their own activities. They are able to set goals for themselves. The student is able to deal with the subject in a diverse and analytical manner when applying theoretical knowledge. The student demonstrates that they have mastered the key contents of self-management and are able to evaluate their actions and their effects on others from the perspective of their values and ethics. They identify areas for development in self-management.

The student understands and applies the theories and tools/methods of self-management to his/her own work and actions. He/she can set goals to oneself. The student can versatile in analytic way the self-management. He/she knows the contents of self-management and can estimate his/her action and it's effects to others. He/she recognize the development targets of self-management.
