The student knows the muscles working in different gym exercises and the techniques of those exercises. The student is able to instruct and coach gym training for his / her clients based on their starting level and objectives.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student is able to describe different forms of gym training at a general level. They can name the muscle groups used in various exercises. They have a general understanding of the techniques for the most common gym exercises and are able to instruct a client. They are capable of planning and guiding gym training for clients at a general level, taking into account the client’s starting level.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student is able to describe different forms and training methods of gym-based exercise at a general level. They can name the muscle groups and individual muscles used in exercises and have a general understanding of muscle function, including types of muscle contractions, functional roles of muscles, and their cooperation during exercises. The student has a general command of the techniques for various gym exercises and is capable of providing clear and purposeful instruction. They are able to plan and guide gym training in a client-oriented manner, taking into account the client’s starting level and goals at a general level.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student is able to accurately analyze different forms and training methods of gym-based exercise. They can name in detail the muscle groups and individual muscles used in exercises and have an in-depth understanding of muscle function, including types of muscle contractions, functional roles of muscles, and their cooperation during exercises. The student masters the techniques of various gym exercises in detail and is capable of providing clear and professional instruction. They are able to plan and guide gym training in a client-oriented and individualized manner, taking into account the client’s starting level and goals.
