Descriptions
Terveydenhoitajan tutkinto on kaksoistutkinto, josta valmistuvat laillistetaan sekä sairaanhoitajana että terveydenhoitajana terveydenhuollon ammattihenkilöiksi. Opintojen aikana suoritetaan yleissairaanhoitajan osaamisvaatimusten mukaiset opinnot (180 op, 2013/55/EU) sekä terveydenhoitajatyön ammattiopinnot (60 op).
Terveydenhoitajan osaaminen perustuu monitieteiseen, alati uudistuvaan ja laaja-alaiseen tietoperustaan, käytännölliseen osaamiseen sekä sosiaalisiin taitoihin. Yleisenä tavoitteena on kouluttaa terveydenhuoltoon osaavaa ammattihenkilöstöä, joka moniammatillisen yhteistyön osaajana turvaa väestölle yhdenvertaiset ja potilasturvallisuuden takaavat palvelut.
Terveydenhoitajatyön näkökulma on terveyden edellytyksiä tukeva ja luova, terveyttä ylläpitävä sekä sairauksia ennaltaehkäisevä toiminta. Terveydenhoitajatutkintoon johtavassa koulutuksessa saavutetaan vahva terveydenhoitajatyön, terveyden edistämisen ja kansanterveystyön ammattitaito.
Valmistuvien terveydenhoitajien ydinosaamisen alueet ovat (Haarala ym. 2021):
1. Terveyttä edistävä terveydenhoitajatyö
Preventiivinen ja promotiivinen terveydenhoitajatyö
Voimavaroja vahvistava terveydenhoitajatyö
Etsivä terveydenhoitajatyö
Monikulttuurinen terveydenhoitajatyö
Toimintamallit ja työmenetelmät terveydenhoitajatyössä
2. Yksilön, perheen ja yhteisön terveydenhoitajatyö
Lasta odottavan perheen terveydenhoitajatyö
Lapsen, kouluikäisen, nuoren ja hänen perheensä terveydenhoitajatyö
Työikäisen ja hänen yhteisönsä terveydenhoitajatyö
Ikääntyvän ja hänen perheensä terveydenhoitajatyö
3. Terveellisen ja turvallisen ympäristön edistäminen
Ympäristöterveyden edistäminen
Tartuntatautien ehkäisy, hoito ja rokottaminen

Opintojen rakenne:
Koulutuksen laajuus on 240 opintopistettä ja sen suorittaminen kestää noin 4 vuotta. Yksi opintopiste vastaa kansainvälisen ECTS-mitoituksen mukaan noin 27 tuntia opiskelijan työtä.
Opinnot koostuvat perusopinnoista, ammattiopinnoista, terveydenhoitajatyön ammattiopinnoista (60 op) ja opinnäytetyöstä (15 op) sekä työelämässä toteutuvasta harjoittelusta. Terveydenhoitajatyön ammattiopintoihin sisältyy 5 op laajuinen kehittämistyö.
