Objective

The students will know the principles, goals and contents of the early childhood education syllabus and the development of the Finnish early childhood education system and the key legislation governing this service.
They will become acquainted with the background theories describing learning and development in childhood and understand the social function and contribution of early childhood education within wellbeing promotion in Finland.
The students will understand the everyday tasks of early childhood education and the roles of the professionals within it, while knowing what the duties of a social services professional in early childhood education are.

Growth, development, learning, early childhood education syllabus, areas of learning in the early childhood education syllabus, promotion of inclusion of children, wide-ranging competences, operational culture, tasks of the social services professional in early childhood education
