Descriptions

In the blended Tourism degree, students complete a university of applied sciences Bachelor degree qualification in Hospitality Management. The formal qualification is Bachelor of Hospitality Management (UAS). The studies are worth 210 credits and take 3 years to complete. The degree has 20 places and it consists of basic studies, professional studies, optional professional studies, free-choice studies, practical training and a thesis.

The aim of the blended degree is to ensure that the students become tourism specialists with the ability to cooperate with a variety of different sectors and disciplines. The theme of the degree is the development of creativity, responsible tourism enterprise operations, internationality and self- knowledge and the notion of memorable experiences in tourism service product development. The students will work in close cooperation with the tourism industry via learning assignments.

The basic studies focus on growing basic skills and awareness followed by applying acquired skills and knowledge. The degree provides extensive customer-oriented product development and marketing competence and knowledge of different cultures for international tourism. Tourism services consist of many different parts such as accommodation, nutrition, program and traffic services as well as conference and congress services. The final part of the degree emphasizes using acquired competence in practice and for different smart solutions.

The degree enables you to choose your desired major (specialist) subjects to deepen your expertise within different areas of tourism, e.g.

Entrepreneurial competence
Entrepreneurship in tourism is an option well worth considering. Entrepreneur studies will develop your entrepreneurial competence. You will acquire business skills for setting up a business and getting it up and running. You will also develop innovation skills and create a new product while gaining practical experience of running a business.

Wellbeing tourism
Well-being tourism enables you to recognize and understand the significance of wellbeing and wellness services as part of tourism. You will be able to apply different types of exercise and therapies to enhance the wellbeing of people with different backgrounds as well as producing suitable tourism service packages based on such exercise and therapies.

Tourism services
Tourism services studies will allow you to strengthen your competences in a chosen specialism, such as accommodation, food or programme services.
