The Kajaani University of Applied Sciences Technology department educates professionals in Business Information Processing (Bachelor of Business Administration).
Students apply straight either into Datacenter Solutions or the Game Development studies.
DATACENTER SOLUTIONS
The Datacenter Solutions studies focus on the installation and control of hardware and operating systems, data networks and servers as well as maintenance, virtualization technologies and cloud services. Students will be able to work e.g. as system experts, operation/production managers or instructors.
GAME DEVELOPMENT
Within Game studies students may choose from the following modules: game production, game graphics or game programming. Game programming also prepares students for traditional programming work. Students will be able to work e.g. as software designers, game programmers, game designers, producers, game artists or instructors.
1st yr.: Comprehensive IT competence.
Business information technology undergraduates studying for the Business Administration Bachelor’s degree will possess the ability to use a computer in their everyday work. The will be widely proficient in and capable of understanding the basic business concepts while being able to work and communicate in a group.
2nd yr.: Advanced IT competence.
Students will acquire the professional skills and knowledge of their chosen major. They can specialize in either datacenter solutions or the field of game production. They know how to utilize their team-work skills in their professional studies.
3rd yr.: Methodological IT Competence.
Students will gain practical expertise of their major and can use various methods of acquiring information, while being able to work in a team and to instruct others.
4th yr.: Applied IT competence.
Students will be able to apply acquired professional skills and knowledge in practice. They will be able to carry out a small-scale research and development assignment.
