Description of Competences
Comprehensive business competence:
Business administration graduates will recognize the way different areas of business administration and operational environments interact while adopting enterprise thinking and an entrepreneurial method of operating. They will understand the significance of profitability and can work in a results-oriented manner. They are able to understand the significance of the individual within their work communities and the importance of communication while actively creating networks and interactive relationships both at home and abroad.
Advanced business competence:
Business administration graduates will possess in depth knowledge of their specialist area of competence (marketing, or business administration and law).
Methodological business competence:
Business administration graduates will be proficient in information acquisition for the purposes of gaining advanced knowledge and competence and for absorbing the basic principles of research and development work. They can apply financial mathematics and statistical methods using IT, and retain sufficient skills in the application of research and development methods.
Applied business competence:
Business Administration graduates can apply business theories and solve problems creatively. They are able to apply the latest business administration related information within their work communities. They know how to develop business processes and apply quality thinking.

General
The objective of business studies is to complete a comprehensive degree in business administration. Students develop their ability to understand the principles and interdependencies of economic activity. They understand the societal impacts of economic activity and entrepreneurship. They learn to identify and refine business opportunities into profitable operations, both internationally and in multicultural contexts.
The programme leads to a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, comprising 210 ECTS credits. The studies are designed to be completed in 3.5 years. After graduating, students are capable of anticipating future solutions in their field by applying existing knowledge as well as research and development methods. They also recognize their own learning styles and know how to utilise community-based learning and digitalisation as part of continuous learning.
During the studies, students can specialise in Leadership and Supervisory Work, Marketing, or Financial Management.
Specialisations
Marketing
The Marketing specialisation provides diverse competencies for various specialist roles in marketing. You will learn the key theoretical concepts and methods of marketing.
Your studies will cover areas such as marketing communications, brand building, sales, digital marketing, service design, and customer experience development, as well as their application in developing a company’s business operations. Additionally, you will learn how marketing can enhance organisational performance and create profitable business.
Your studies include practical collaboration with companies, such as guest lectures, business cases, company visits, thesis projects, and internship opportunities.
The Marketing specialisation prepares you for practical roles in marketing and communications as well as for tasks involving the planning and management of marketing activities. You will be able to identify and evaluate your professional skills and further deepen your expertise.
Financial Management
After completing studies in Financial Management, you will be qualified to work as a financial management specialist. You will be able to develop an organisation’s financial management in accordance with legislation, professional responsibility, and ethical principles. You will also know how to utilise intelligent technologies in the field, such as financial management software and artificial intelligence. You will have the readiness to continue developing your competence.
You will be able to identify and develop financial management processes in both private and public sectors, in national and international contexts. As a Bachelor of Business Administration in Financial Management, you will understand key areas of business law and know how to search for and apply legislation. You will also be able to communicate financial matters in both English and Swedish.
As a specialist in financial management, you will be equipped for a wide range of planning, controlling, and analytical roles. You may work, for example, in financial and HR administration, internal auditing, external auditing, tax administration, or the financial sector. In these roles, you will act responsibly as a financial management expert, promoting good and responsible governance, service competence, communication, and sustainable development. You may also complete studies required for the HT auditor qualification (the basic auditing qualification).
Leadership and Supervisory Work
The aim of the Leadership and Supervisory Work specialisation is to strengthen students’ supervisory and teamwork skills, workplace and organisational development abilities, and communication skills within the work community. Graduates in Leadership and Supervisory Work can communicate professionally also in English and Swedish. They are capable of working in accordance with ethical principles and values of their field.
Students are prepared to work in both private and public sector roles that require an understanding of leadership, supervisory work, and business competence. In their professional duties, they are able to operate within their work community, promote the achievement of sustainable development goals, and act as responsible professionals.
